Layout
An explanation of what you can see here.
Well up top on the main page you have a rotation of current articles, and below this you have the 6 most recent & stickied posts.
Below that again is my twitter feed and beside that is a character sheet for my main WoW character, Saruya.
To the right is the navigation for the site, which should all be fairly self explanatory, including links to other websites and the various sections of the site itself.
More will likely be added as I tweak with the layout and content - especially the sections, as these will fill out whenever I post to a category for the first time.

Hi mate,
I have a blog using wordpress and have just downloaded the Arras theme. How on earth do you get the images for each of the posts to show ? I have added an image to my media and can insert it into the post but I cant use it for the headings like you have ?

Lo mate
Aye, it’s fairly easy to setup. You have to upload to your webserver a file called timthumb.php (save that page as timthumb.php). I put mine in the wp-includes folder, and WP seems to find it ok there with no more configuration.
You then, in WP need to create when adding a new post (for the first time only – after that just select it from the drop-down menu), a custom field called thumb. In the value field put the URL to the image you want to use as a topic header, which can either be absolute or relative. I use relative values for mine and it works fine.
I have a bunch of default headers for the various topics, but stuff like Blizzcon and the Guild video I upload custom images for news like that.

Oh and you can either use the built-in uploader to upload your topic images or FTP to a custom folder. As long as you point the thumb value to the correct url it doesn’t really matter.
I use custom folders, but using the built-in uploader is handy if you have no access to FTP at the time.

Thanks for that mate. I thought I was going potty earlier thinking I had missed something. Will have a play over the weekend.

Your twitter thing is at the bottom of thr site and not in the left column for FF btw m8.

As for IE (v7) it has errors on the page and twitter is closed up.

The twitter box was actually at the bottom of the site deliberately, as the right hand column was way longer than the news when I put it there originally, so it looked unbalanced. A few more posts in and that’s sorted
And I have IE8 on Windows 7 RC here, and it looks ok. Seems ok in IE6 in work too. Odd.
